hey, i'm heading down to section the smokies tom., the weather is lookin pretty good, but i was wondering if anyone knows how the condition of the trail is, and about how many people are gonna be out there, (crowded shelters?), thanx

Let me think! Oh yes, the trail will be covered with dirt, stones, twigs, grass, and maybe some litter. Could be wet and muddy, or dry and dusty depending on whether or not it rains or doesn't rain. As far as how many people are gonna be out there, I would say not less than one nor more than a thousand. Shelters might be crowded or might not, depending on the number of hikers that fall between the numbers one and a thousand. Hope this info helps your hike!

Clong, your question about how many people are going to be out there, struck me as being humorous. How many indeed? Who could answer that truthfully? Is there a checker standing at the trail making a headcount of people passing by? Dumbass question=Smartass answer

i thought wisdom=answers, damn was i ever wrong, i guess i was thinking that since people have hiked there before would be able to give me an estimate from what they remembered, instead i get smartass answers, all the wisdom must be out hiking while the smartass people hike from behind a computer
