Hello friends,
I’m back in the Smokies during a time of year which I have not hiked…September. Any recollections on water sources during your time there? Thanks!

I hiked the Smokies last October and Did not have A problem with finding water,That was last year though and It could have changed if there has not been alot of rain,Leconte got over 1 inch of rain last night so I bet you wont have any problems.

I hiked through it this year, maybe early May, and don’t recall having any problems at all finding water.

A great number to call just before your hike is 865-436-1297. It is the phone number for the GSMNP office. I have gotten excellant up-to-date information from them. My wife and I will be hiking there in the next couple of weeks. If we find any unusual water, etc., situations, I will report them via this forum when we get back.
Great Hiking, PaPa Larry
