We are a group of Iowa boys with no snow/ice experience. What are ther chances of encountering said precipitation in July in San Juan Nat’l Forest segments? Researched High Sierras and looked like there would likely be snow most of the summer. Same story here?

I don’t think you will have much trouble in July. The big storms tracked more to the north this year. The South San Juans had less than normal snowfall and the Weminuche is below normal at Wolf Creek to slightly above normal in the Silverton area.

How about mosquitos in early July? I never read about mosquito problems in Colorado, but there must be a ton?
