Is there much snow on the AT in Mass or CT right now? I’ve gotta go hike something, I’m busting at the seams!

I stayed at Riga last week. The trail had a few inches of crusty ice/snow that was easy to break through, typically a few inches of water under the snow. Walking early morning before the snow softened up was nice. It’s been warm since then, expect mud.

Got a weeks worth of snow/sleet expected in New England this week, expect it will snow at higher elevations.

The New england mountains are going to be nasty for the next few days, we have crappy weather hitting us all this week.

Had a bit of rain this week with temps in the 50’s and some wind. Greylock still has snow, ice, and mud. Possibilty of flurries Thur night. Stop at the Shell station in Dalton if your in the area and need a refuge.

Heading there this weekend, what’s the policy on camping at non-shelter/tent sites?

I’m hoping the snow is gone by now.
