Snow in Tenmile Range

We are planning to resume our CT hike on July 2 beginning with Segment 7 at Goldhill TH, which immediately will take us into the Tenmile Range. The guide book says snow lingers until late June early July. Will this be a problem for relatively inexperienced hikers as far as route finding etc? We did Seg 1 thru 6 last year in mid Sept and had perfect conditions. Thanks!!

You should be good to go esp this year.

Enjoy!

You will probably have to cross a couple of short snow fields on the E side near the top. (remnants of the cornice). Once you cross, the trail is obvious. Ditto for Searle / Kokymo and Holy Cross WA. Holy Cross is the most confusing - just keep heading up and you’ll find the trail again. (that is a good place for a gps)

Thanks for the information! We will proceed as planned, I was undecided about GPS but I think I will take one along.
