alright so now i’m 27 days from my NOBO JMT trip, does anyone have any good info snow. Will I need crampons for MT Whit, and the other high passes???

I can’t say anything about the passes but I heard the snow pack this year is at 136%.

Just came over Forester Pass on Monday. Lots of snow still, but melting REALLY fast - heavy creek flow at the moment. I would guess that there will be little snow by July - only a patches at the highest elevations. As far as crampons are concerned - didn’t use or need them & most of the PCT hikers like myself aren’t carrying them. Good timing is all you need - just wait for the sun to soften the snow a bit on the passes. Happy Trails!
