My friend started south from Manning Park about a week ago. What kind of conditions has he found out there right now? Is there anyone else SoBo right now?

Hi miss J… we started July 12 … and hit snow pretty much from the start… got very difficult about 100 miles in. We had a fairly high snow yr though… I don’t think it has been a good snow year there… not sure though. Hope you are doing well…

Lots of snow above 5,000 feet here (White Pass area), though it should be melting FAST. They need a good mosquito net for face, especially through the section between Chinook & White Pass. It is rumored that an unprotected person (naked, in the woods & forgetting to swat the mosquitoes?) would be killed in about 1/2 hour in this area.

Tim found LOTS of snow after leaving Manning Park and hitched back out after 5 days. He is in Seattle deciding on plan B.
