South vs North - The Colorado Trail

I hiked from Denver to Twin Lakes this past year and am planning on hiking from Twin Lakes to Highway 114 next year. I was thinking about hiking this section of the CT north rather south. If I would hike north from Highway 114, it would be easier to get off the trail once I cross Highway 50 due to my time restraints. What are some thoughts about hiking north? Is the signage good to follow?

No problem. Probably easier that way.

That climb from Durango up to Kennebec Pass would kick my butt on the first day of a hike - it was pleasant going downhill to get that beer at Carvers, though.

After that, though, there probably isn’t much difference as long as you aren’t prone to altitude sickness.

End to end, I think CT is way better SOBO. On that middle section you’re considering, either way A-OK.
