Hi-I am planning a southbound thru-hike of the AT starting in mid-july. I am 27 yrs old and a lightweight, accomplished hiker. looking for someone to start the hike with (ride Share) and potentially more. I will be hiking 20-25 miles a day and mostly resupplying from local stores.(ect…) If anyone has any suggestions for a south bounder, or interested in starting together, let me know.
Peace!

Dude, you’re making me cry. I would SO be your wingman. Or the other way around. But, alas, J.O.B. and a hundred forty million in student loans. I have skilz tho; www.trailjournals.com/rudolf
I love mileage. Lots of mileage. Especially 30’s. Why did you have to say SOBO. I hate you. :tongue At least post a journal. You might get goodies.

When doing a SOBO - climbing Katahdin: start early/resist temptation to carry your own pack gear up/ask hikers coming toward you if there is water at Thoreau spring - if not fill below the treeline/I doubt the 20-25 miles per day - more power to you if you can/plan on a month to get to/through Whites/daylight gets less and less as you hike/shorter days = less hiking time/some hiker joints closed that time of year/not a lot of fellow hikers/plenty of shelters available after the “hurd” passes you buy.
