Southbounder AT books

There are a ton of thru-hiker memoir books written by northbounders, but are there any from southbounders?

About the only ones I’ve ever heard of are the ones in Hiking the Appalachian Trail (the 2 volume set by Rodale) back in the 70’s, and another one which is actually a photo book I think called Sojourn in the Wilderness.

Are there others, and what kind of read are they? Jim Shattuck’s (from the Rodale set) story is informative in that he does most of it during winter months. There are a few others in it but they do not have as much info as Jim’s does.

Eric Ryback’s 1969 South bound Hike makes a very good read.
He started in June and finished in early September. The story is in the two volume set by Rodale press.Think it’s out of print now.The story may may have been a separate book,I’am not sure.:cheers
