Does anybody know if there will be a New Years Party on the summit of Springer Mountain this year? If so, what are the details. I know that usually a good sized group parties on the summit for New Years, but wasn't sure about this year. A few hardy (and a bit crazy) souls even start their AT thru-hike the following day on Jan. 1.

We had a fun nite there on Dec 31, 2009. We started a thru hike the next day. Unfortunately we only got to Allens Gap that year. It was cold, 9 degrees in the morning. Love to do it again sometimes.

Yes i was their had a great party with about 25 other people, some of whom started there Thru-Hike the next day, Happy New Years. RED-DOG:cheers
