The only time I would be able to thru- hike the trail would be after late may, is that too late? Would the heat become unbearable after a month? Just trying to plan some dates and get a little idea of what to expect…

Yes, I believe it would be way too late in the season…maybe you could consider a fall hike? But I think there just wouldn’t be water…

By late May, temps in the desert would be in the high 90’s or even 100, and water sources would be gone. I’d find another trail.

I had a friend start May 1st. A very hardy friend, used to desert hiking. He found it hellishly hot and stopped after a couple weeks.
