I’m starting July 3. That’s my guess. Most of the snow will be gone and monsoons won’t have begun. I hope.

Im starting early, June 10, expect some snow on the approach to Geogria Pass, and in the Ten Mile, but those are short sections.

Beyond Seg 6 Georgia Pass and Seg 7 Tenmile ridge, those starting early might also hit snowpack midway in Segment 8 including Searle and Kokomo Passes. Remember this tip: in between Searle & Kokomo is ELK RIDGE (the Segment 8 high point) where snowpack can remain across a steep side hill that can be kind of risky to cross. Instead, go uphill (right) to the ridge top and descend the ridge (left) to the Kokomo Pass trail sign. Maybe a quarter mile out of your way, this route eliminates the steep snowpack traverse.
