Has anybody had any extended trail experience with the SteriPen (water purifier that uses UV light to sterilize water)- except for the price, it seems too good to be true - lightweight (8 oz.) and quick (40 seconds for 16 oz. of H2O), and it frees one from the evils of water pumps, filters, iodine, bleach, etc.
However, I’m a bit wary of hi-tech on the trail - bumps and bruises, moisture, etc., might leave someone high and dry with a busted gadget.
On the other hand, it is’s reliable, it seems that over 5-6 months of daily use it would more than be worth the extra $100 over a standard filter…
Anyone?
THanks again!
