Need some opinions on stoves…not so much what kind of stove to buy but on the avaibility of fuel on the trail. Can you get all kinds or are just some kinds of fuel more avaible then others in towns??

I carried an alcohol stove last year and had no problems getting fuel. In towns without an outfitter/hostel/hardware store for denatured, you can always get heet or equivalent from a gas station. White gas is also easy to find, and depending on your stove, you might be able to use unleaded as backup. Not too sure about canisters, they might be a problem if you go into smaller towns and don’t maildrop them in. Have fun!

I think this question has been asked before.
Stove fuel that is readily available along the AT includes alcohol (and/or Heet) and white gas (coleman fuel).
Canisters are usually available at outfitters. However, the outfitters can be far and few between, especially up north.

If you have to you can use rubbing alcohol but iot blackens your pots. You can get isopropyl anywhere.

For alcohol stoves - another option for resupplying fuel is to buy a bottle of 190-proof grain alcohol (EverClear) which will burn nice and hot in your PepsiCan and mix nicely with some juice in your belly.
Of course you have to find an ABC or package store to buy it. You can also use any other booze pretty well in the range of 150+ proof (Ron Rico 151 Rum, etc.).
