Stove Sponsorship to AT Thru Hikers

To all AT hikers,
I am the founder of www.advancedmountainproducts.com, purveyor of ultralight backpacking gear, specifically targeted to long distance hikers. I would like to start a tradition this year of sponsoring 10 AT thru-hikers. Since we are a small outfit, I am looking to provide these 10 hikers with stoves and windshields for the duration of their journey. While I expect our gear to last from Georgia to Maine, we would provide support if anything should go awry. I would hope that this sponsorship would grow to the point where we can sponsor hikers in other ways as our company grows.
We would like submissions in the form of emails, giving a brief description of the hiker, why he/she is hiking the AT, and when they are leaving. I expect the 10 hikers will be selected by March 4th, with stoves arriving at their destinations by the 11th.

Sincerely,

Alcohol stoves to be precise. Ultralight, functional, hard to break. These stoves are hand-made in the USA from recycled materials. Please visit my website, www.advancedmountainproducts.com to get more info.

If your stove is lighter than and tin can stove that most through hikers use, and more effiecient on alchol then I would be very interested in your stove for my next long distance hike coming this spring. But the tin can stove is hard to beat.

Our stoves are similar to other homemade stoves on the market.

The difference between my stove and the others technically, is that the jet holes are drilled as apposed to punched, and the stoves are put together with JB Weld. Many other makers skip this step.

More importantly, my stoves come with a warranty. If you have a problem with my stove, send it back, or email me so we can work something out. I have never had a customer turn away unhappy.

The important thing here is that we are sponsoring a few thru hikers this year. That means I am giving hikers the stove to try, and report back their experiences. We are still in the selection process, so please email me at chris@percious.com if you are interested.

Sincerely,
Christopher Perkins
