Anyone know the difference between the blue and the green superfeet?

blue superfeet are the lower volume inserts. they have a plastic ridge under the heel that tends to cut up the inside of your shoes. they raise your heel up inside your shoes less than the green ones.
green superfeet will not cut up your shoes in my experience. you’re not supposed to wear either kind straight off for 8 hours so that your feet get a chance to get used to the high arch support. but most hikers can ignore that and chalk it up to regular everyday foot pain.
hope this helps.

I wore superfeet to my cost - I found the plastic cup cut straight into the side of my heal causing a deep wound (not just a blister wound)…wear them before you start and see if they are good for you.

i tried to wear green superfeet on my thruhike and found they hurt more than they helped, you may want to wear them at home when you are walking, you can also check with NEW BLANCE as they are starting to offer inserts. see you out there

They are absolutely wonderful. They cost about $300 - $400, but health insurance pays most of the cost. I am 59, and my feet feel better than they did 30 years ago.

I got a set at Damascus. Within a day the heel cup was gouging the edges of my heels and by Roan Mountain they were causing leg pain as well. I junked them two days later and went back to Spenco insoles. I think the stiff arch supports made it impossible for my arches to provide the shock absorption that is why we have arches in the first place. In any event, my feet and Superfeet do not mix.

blue is for casual shoes generally
green for hiking & running
I swear by them - they can be rough on your feet the first week (blisters on the side of heal) but alot cheaper than orthodics
superfeet basically cup the heel so you get natural cusioning instead of letting the heel flatten out like spencos.

Agreed: Superfeet, or other brands of orthotics, may not be for everyone. But to give them a maximum chance to work you should buy them from a knowledgeable brick-and-mortar outfitter, one that has the tools and knowledge to custom fit.
