There are plenty including The North Face Propel. This forty degree syth. bag weighs just one pound. You can find it at Backcountry gear among other shops. To better answer the question, it should include a preferred temp. rating, size and perhaps gender specific. Consider also why you prefer synthetic. As you know, you’ll almost always get a lighter weight/temp. ratio with a more durable and compressible (more expensive and slow drying) down bag.

howdy there cheeser,

i have a moonstone stratus 3d, and my fiance just purchased a moonstone nimbus(i think it is the nimbus) they both weigh in at 1lb 14 oz each. and they are rated at 32 degrees. i used mine on my pct hike in 2005 and loved it! it compresses down just as much as your average down bag, weighs just as much if not less than your average down bag and costs about 1/3 of a down bag.

they retail for $155 new, we just bought my fiances bag on sale for $109!!! plus the best aspect synthetic is that you can still stay warm when it gets wet and you can just throw it in the wash without any special detergent and you dont have to keep pulling the clumps of feathers apart while it drys if it does ever get wet on the trail like you would with a down bag. just alot less maintenence on a synthetic bag all the way around.

have a great day!

Careful of temp ratings. Be sure to compare actual fill weights, fill matierials, shell matierals, and actual dimension.
I wouldn’t even waste my time with manufacturer temp ratings.

That said, I have a montbell syntetic super stretch and it is extremely comfortable.

how do you like the montbell synthetic, I have the down version and the temp rating, IMO, is a litle off i was cold on a 35 degree night, the bag is supposed to be a 24degrees bag

I’m about to use it on its first long trip, but just trying
the fit on it and its really comfortable. It expands/contracts to fit your position.
I have never slept in a bag that was as warm as it was supposed to be.

Marmot pounder, have heard that is far from a 40 degree bag.

the wife and 1 both bought the slumberjack ultimate they claim its good to 20*. But seems at least to us to be very over rated imo 40 or 45* degree rating would be more accruate. the fill is thermolite and the weight is 3 lbs. whatever you do dont waste your time or money on this bad like we did
