I’m the owner of a Squall2 (Atlanta is home) and recently stopped by Henry’s home (S.F. Bay Area) to get a first hand look at the Double Rainbow. Simply put, I love this new design. As for condensation, yes, I’ve had a bit of misting but that goes with the territory when using Silnylon. From my experience, it’s got to be a long and sustained heavy rain for that to occur. In the D.R., Shires is offering a clip-in ceiling (4 ounces) to eliminate the misting concern. I don’t know if that feature is available on the Single Rainbow. You can send him an email and ask. I’ll be taking the D.R. on my '07 A.T. thru-hike. Having the extra space and headroom is my one luxury item and worth adding a few extra ounces (in my humble opinion). Beak leaks? I’ve not heard of that from any Tarptent owner. Did they seam-seal it? It’s easy to do and a must.
