I ,too, am a plastic bag man. I sweat so hard hiking that the stuff inside my pack is far more subject to being soaked from sweat than from rain, so I do bags. I have never done TC bags, they must be tough. My favorite are Mylar turkey bags. I use a GVP 4 pack with my thermorest folded in the mesh sleeve. I use a large turkey bag to protect my mattress pad from sweat soaking. I have recently used Tyvek tape to tape a zip-lock sealer from a 20 lb, Pedigree dog food bag to seal the bottom of the turkey bag. Will hike into Damascus trying it out for the first time next Sat. 5/20/06. Other great bags I have used came from an institute for the blind in coastal Alabama. The Blind Bags of Alabama. Light weight bags inside the pack are the ticket for the old mlueskinner. Peace is the only way.
