Tents / shelters /vs\ tent hammock / hybrid

#1

I’ve been sleeping in tents for 25-30 years. Switching to hammock definitely takes a bit getting used to. After hiking a short 70 miles on AT,10nights out sleeping in a regular hammock although very lightweight my back suffered very little sleep. Even though it was in May my back was freezing in the morning without underquilt. So i Purchased a. Cura hybrid, tent hammock. Best decision ever made 7 lb a little heavy, but sacrificing a little bit of weight for comfort and a good night sleep works for me. Also something about putting my food in a tree for safety and then sleeping on the ground? Sleep like a baby 8 foot up in the trees rope ladder for access . where there are no trees available, is it a secure comfortable tent. And the straps that are used do not hurt the tree in anyway leaving minimal footprint.
