The Kat Family is heading Back!

After a long, way to long lay off, the Kat family is going to be heading back atleast for a week or 2. Does any body know of a person or company that can get us from hot springs back to Fontana Dam? That’s where I left off earlier this year and would like to continue from there with the family. Also in hot springs is there someplace we can leave our truck while we hike back up to it?

I’ve missed conversing with all of you and hope we can see some of you here in the next few weeks.

I dont know how many in your party, but I have used Dan Gallagher at Bluff Mtn Outfitters in Hot Springs and you could also ask Jeff/Nancy Hoch at the Hike Inn near Fontana Dam(they might know someone who would do shuttling, not sure if they would do it themselves for such a distance)

Curtis @ Standing Bear will shuttle, and this will be his slow time of year while he waits for SOBOs to start.

I also used Dan @ Bluff Mtn, great guy when I needed to get back from Johnson City to H/S last year.

Does anyone know if bus lines are practical as long distance “shuttles” between Appalachian Trail Sections? Is a van shuttle less expensive? Can a combination of bus and van/car/truck work well?

What do you think?

Just a note for all you hikers; there is a woman in the town of Gorham, NH that will do Hiker Shuttles for you, I will leave the number for you to contact her when you get up this way::::(603) 752-4499, she has been a taxi driver in Manchester, so she is really good and safe.
