Hopefully I’m not breaking any forum rules. Just finished LiteShoe’s book about hiing the Long Trail and thought it was fantastic. Jan is a gifted writer with that uncanny knack of drawing readers into sharing her hike experience as close as one can get without actually “saddling up” and walking next to her. I quite enjoyed and so will anyone who is amidst the long distance hike planning process.

I’ve got to agree…it is a great book!!..even IF Liteshoe wrote it. It’s even been an inspiration for me on my next walk to slow down on the miles each day. I may even walk the Long Trail later this year because of the book. Thanks Jan!

I guess I’ll just have to get in line to register my appreciation for this wonderful book. Professional training in journalism really makes a difference. I wonder if Jan herself even knows how much her hiking buddy, Clyde, comes across as the real hero of this journal. I’m really looking forward to Jan’s next book about her 2003 AT trek. I hope she’s busy putting it together now (hint). Frank “The Walrus” Miller
