The Trail - Arizona Trail

I am taking a greyhound bus from WA to Scottsdale, Arizona. Then I am going down to Tuscan to hike some of the 800 mile trail.
Just doing some good ol’ traveling around.

I cant seem to find if camping permits cost anything. I am not sure how far I am going. I am still planning all of this.

The only place I can think of that requires permits would be in the Grand Canyon.

Camping permits are also required for Saguaro National Park, although you can probably make it through there in a long day and camp somewhere beyond.

What did this year’s thru-hikers do, I wonder?

Camping is allowed at 6 designated campgrounds within the Saguaro Wilderness Area. These campgrounds are located throughout the wilderness area and a permit is required for all overnight stays. The fee for this permit is $6.00 per campsite, per night. Refunds for cancelled camping permits
are not given for any reason. However, you may reschedule your trip within two months.
