Just an FYI

My wife and I were up maintaining our 2.5 mile section from the top of Goose Eye Mtn to the Full Goose Shelter near the ME-NH border. (The shelter is 1.5 from Mahoosic Notch) Met and fed 5 NOBO’s

Glacier
Pine Cone
Turkey Bacon
I (and dog Herbie)
Weeble

Roughneck (A NOBO Sectioner who stared at the VT-MA border)

Pine Cone reported they have crossed paths with 54 SOBO’s, but thinks they missd a few in town.

Everyone was in good spirits but I guess they all just crossed the border into their last state.

We saw some or all of this group at Ethan Pond on 8/3. There were 3 on the trail heading down to rt 302 and 7 at the shelter. This last Saturday (8/10) there were only 2 at the shelter - so we left the extra food in the bear box . I was thinking this should be about peak time for thru-hikers in the Whites.

I worked at a camp this summer, which was a 5 minute walk from bear rocks falls, a mile into massachussetts. I saw a ton of thru-hikers including trainwreck from trailjournals on 8/9 at the hemlocks shelter. i saw grasshopper in town and gave a young couple a ride to the days inn but forgot to ask their names. i ran into several large groups of thru-hikers all summer, they were loving the cool weather for a change.
