I think me and my girlfriend might try and hike north from phoenix the first weekend in may due to school :-/ it will probably be to late to catch any thru hikers.

Hi, I hiked from Mex to Flagstaff in spring 2009. Water conditions were slightly better than I expected. Got snow and rain for three days. One morning woke up to frozen water bottles. Passed about two dozen illegals at various places. When you use the trail maps from the AZT association think of them as a general idea where the trail might go, not where it really is. Best two features of the trail: 1)quiet and 2) solitude. I’m planning on finishing Flagstaff to Utah this spring.
