I’m reading this book Among Grizzlies by Timmothy Treadwell, and he ain’t the least bit scared of b-b-b-bears. He tells how he goes to Alaska and sleeps near the bears and talks to them and walks on all fours to blend in with them.

And if a bear with a bad attitude comes after him, does he play dead? Nosiree. He STANDS UP TO THE BEAR and it backs down! That’s right. If a bear charges, he GROWLS REAL LOUD just like a huge bear and RUNS RIGHT AT THE BEAR and it backs down!

I could never mingle with grizzlers like that cause I’m real scarda bears. But to him it’s nothing. Anyone ever meet that guy?

I think he’s the guy that was just mauled to death in Alaska last year. With his girlfriend, too. As the entire state breathed a sigh of “I told you so.”

Yeah, he got mauled to death last year, and also, the bears that did it were euthanized. If the attacks were unprovoked, it wouldn’t have been sad, but had he left them alone and not tried to be the bear whisperer, this wouldn’t have happened.

with the devil in the pale moonlight, you’re going to have a hangover.

Its admirable what he did, but a little stupid at the same time.

Crazy thing is the day it all happened is the last day they were going to be out there.
They had packed their things and were on the way out of the wilderness…guess the Grizzes are getting the last laugh.

You can huff and puff and get most human beings to back down from you. I said most.

You can huff and puff and get most Grizzley bears to back down from you. Same is true of Black Bears.

But there are those humans and bears, which are full of piss and viniger just itching for a fight. It’s a thing called testerone and when it peaks…you don’t back down from anything.

People just don’t seem to understand, most is not all. This goes for people, dogs, bears, etc. So don’t treat all bears or all dogs the same and don’t expect them to all behave the same. They won’t.

See you out there. :cheers
