Man, work sucks. The trail is calling and I’m not even planning an AT hike for another 5 years. My 2004 Thru Hike was so awesome!

It is never too early for Springer fever. This illness doesn’t just pertain to the AT, it’s long distance hiking in general. We haven’t had a LDH since last August. It is a long time. We are counting the days until our Florida Trail hike from Lake to Ocean with the FTA.
Last year at this date we were freezing on The AT in NC. Kind of a frosty cure for Springer Fever.

I too have spring fever. Sitting at my desk at work reading journals and looking at pictures this week has given me the LDH bug again. I live in the NC mountains so I think I might do a short overnight trip this weekend just to get out in the woods.

Hike the Florida Trail. My son and I thru hiked the FT several years ago in January, February, and March. No bugs, no humidity, couple days of rain. Mostly hiked in shorts and short sleeves. The humidity and bugs were just starting to kick in when we finished in March. The FT has a fair amount of raod walking but where else in the US are can you LDH in winter?

I am living the dream through the computer and waiting for the weather to change… Spring Fever? Yeah I got it!

Spring fever for me starts about the time that the first leaves start to fall in October. I hate cold weather.

Oops, my bad…
I did not see the “er”… Yes, too much time on the computer, not enough time on the trail.
Besides that, Springer Fever and Spring Fever kind of mean the same thing to me…
AT class of 05. Peace:
