I’m planning a Sept thru-hike of the TRT, would like to hear from other hikers over the summer on trail conditions. While water is a primary concern this year, any other posts are welcome!

I thru-hiked the TRT at the end of July. The trail was fantastic in many regards (scenary, ease of planning, water availability, etc.) The only sections where water was a real issue were Brockway Summit to Tahoe City and Spooner Summit to Tahoe Meadows. That could have changed by September though.
Several hikers cached water at Spooner Summit. Spooner Lake is a down a half-mile side trail and the water is somewhat gross. If you don’t cache water at Spooner Summit, you’ll have to get water at Spooner Lake or carry a lot from either Kingsbury Grade or Marlette Camp, depending on which direction you are hiking.
