Anyone been out on the AT in MA between Great Barrington and North Adams? How much snow is left? Should I leave the snow shoes at home or bring em?

Hey Feral -
Have not been out to the AT here in MA this month, but in Central MA, we’ve still got snow on our trails, especially on the Midstate Trail and around Wachusett Mt. Tonight and tomorrow we’re supposed to get about another foot - they’re saying more out in Western Ma… so I’d imagine you’d want to bring those snow shoes if you’ve got em.

There is a snow storm going on right now. One foot or more is expected.

Got over a foot now and still coming down and I am 40 miles east of the trail and at a lower elevation. I skied beartown SF to Wilcox north on the AT and there was 8" of hard snow with about an inch of powder a week ago.

I’m from upper N.E. on the NH line. With the freezing rain soaking in I’m guessing it will be frozen solid. I’m going to bring the snowshoes and decide when I get out there. Thanks everyone. Happy trails. Stay safe.
