Hey,

I’m looking for tips on how to get to trail days. Me and my dog are currently hiking the AT. We should be around state college/ duncannon by the time trail days is happening. Any tips or suggestions on how to go?

Thanks.

Hey Bro, sorry I can’t give you a ride myself but I’m stuck at work. I’ll forward your post to a friend just north of Duncannon. She MAY be able to help.

I would wait and go next year after your hike.
But if you really wanted to go this year maybe you could get some hikers to go in and rent a car and head south.:cheers

Sorry bro, my contact has the kids at the dude ranch that weekend. But Fargo says “Hey” and has it really been that long? You didn’t meet her.

Bugs - and anyone looking for a ride from anywhere else in the country - if you don’t have any luck with a ride, there is a Greyhound station in nearby Abingdon, VA (approx. 13 miles up the road). I know it’s not the preferred way of travel typically, but it’s an option if you really can’t find a ride.

Greyhound closed the bus station in Abingdon a couple years ago. It is no longer an option.

Trail Angel Mary lives in Duncannon, I think she goes every year. Ask her nicely and she will probably help you in one way or another. She is one of the best!

Thanks everybody for your input. BW, good to hear from you! We’re actually a bit slower than expected. We’re in Harpers Ferry and quite interested in Bump’s offer. Bump, I sent you an email, hope you get it. I’m zeroing at the Harpers Ferry AYH hostel right now. We’re fishing for a ride, if we get no leads, we’ll be heading north to PA…

Happy trails to all!
