Watch your backside while partying at Traildaze, even at the bonfires as a friend found out one year. Those psuedo-cops love making revenue by busting people passing a bowl around, and the no open container law in town…well, they actually mean it.

Don’t forget to watch your car at Trail Days.The cops there will laugh at you if you tell them your car got stolen lol.I doubt any Meth labs will be there now that the old former police chief is in hot water with the local feds for dealing ,selling drugs right out of the police department there in Damascus Va and is now facing 80 years in prison lolol.

Well what web site are you looking at that says traildays won’t be this year???And yes the police last year were abit *******s but when you get that many people in one place there has to be some kind of grounds set hit your bowl in your tent or head on the trail that is my best solution to your problem… I go to see old friends…And if ya had a car stolen get on star that will also solve your problem WOW did not know posting this topic would cause a problem was seeing if any thru hikers needed a lift.If ya don’t like Damascus stay home!!! see all others there Peace,Tambourine:cheers

You apparently have not kept up with the latest hi-jinks that go on in that town involving the police,drugs ,firing police chiefs every six months because they do not like the way they do thier jobs or telling some one they have an town clerk’s job then tell that person she does not have the job. That town has become the laughing stock of the entire nation ,roflomao

if you don’t like Damascus, don’t go! Trail Daze is not for everyone. I personally liked a lot of the organized events, especially the parade but found the scene at the campground to be a little over the top. I guess its partially due to the fact that it is close to the beginning of the trail but I found that there were a lot of shady people hanging around the campground just looking to party. I think maybe half the people weren’t even really hiking by that time. While it was fun to see some hikers that I hadn’t seen in a while, I was a little embarrassed by some of the behavior I witnessed. Its one thing to party and have a good time but quite another to make a nuisance of yourself, disrespect the locals, and act like everyone owes you respect because you’ve " hiked" to Damascus. My advice, go to trail daze but don’t sleep at the campgrounf cuz you won’t sleep at the campground.
