I want to do a section of the CDT in Colorado or Wyoming. I would like to fly from Oregon, but is there any towns in either state that have an airport and bus route to a town near the CDT? Anyone live near the CDT who might know how I could get transportation? Susie

The amtrak stops in Granby, CO which is only a few miles from Grand Lake, CO. It’s the California Zephyr, you can pick it up in Denver or you can grab it on a connection from any amtrak station. I did this in 2007 for my CO section hike, it worked out well. I don’t know anything about wyoming, though. I can say the section south of Grand Lake in Colorado is fantastic, though.

There is an airport shuttle from DIA to Steamboat. Greyhound crosses the trail on I-70 near Frisco, and at Durango, where you can take the narrow gauge train and/or hike the CT to the CDT. There may still be bus service to Lander, WY from Denver.

Gunnison - Denver express will get you to Monarch Pass from Denver. Do a online search for details.

From Denver area, Wind River Buses went North thru Wyoming a few years ago & Greyhound followed the interstates E & W… probably can find out all route info at greyhound.com
don’t think they stop at Lander though.
