Are there many / any places on the AT where one can transfer photos from an SD card to a DVD disc?

Any photo developing place can do this. They even have a self service machine in some places that you can do it yourself.
Many drugstores offer this service.

I did it in Christchurch New Zealand ( photo CD developing )

that’s how i did it on my hike. there’s not a ton of big drugstores you pass by to get it done, but there’s enough. just have plenty of memory in case you can’t get a CD burned for a while. also make sure the recepient actually has the CD in his hand before you delete the card, just to be sure nothing gets lost in the mail.

There’s a good camera / video store in Kent, CT. Only place I remember. Seems like there’s a camera store in Daleville, VA., in the shoppng center where the outfitter is. But not sure.
