I now that most poeple are using traps theses day but what kind, how big and who makes them.

We have hard water here and using metal ones is sure to get you wet feet at some point. Those things are always rusting out at the wrong time ie when the home center is closed. Most homes in Ohio us plastic. Yeah, they’re cheap but they don’t fail. What ever you do make sure that your parts are up to code.:nerd

luke kaim, I don’t think there are as many people on the trail as you think using traps. However, the ones I have seen are using the Tru-Catch Animal Traps. They have a 98% catch rate, they close quietly and do not traumatize the animal for long. The traps are not real big and some even come ultra light. Tru-Catch also has a Deluxe model to use in the summer months. Some hikers are resorting back to the old spring loaded mouse trap. Take your pick, I wished there were more people out on the trail like yourself that showed an interest in trapping. Happy Hunting. :wink:

I live in Alaska and BELIEVE me…trapping is a cruel way to go. Lets just keep this site where it is supposed to be… on hiking…
