I am looking for an inexpensive way to travel from the Denver airport to the Collegiate Loop. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Skyride bus from airport to downtown terminal.
Black Hills Stage line bus from either the Amtrak or Greyhound station to Salida.
Cab, hitch, or walk 5 miles west to Poncha Springs.
Take the bike shuttle to Monarch Pass.
Hike 5 miles north to the CT/CDT junction. Go left to hike the western loop; go right to hike the eastern loop.

I think that last paragraph is 180 degrees out. The intersection with the eastern route is five miles south of Monarch Pass, not north. From there you would turn left (north) to follow the eastern route. Or you could just head north from Monarch Pass to hike the western loop.

I misspoke; I meant to say take the bike shuttle to MARSHALL PASS, not Monarch Pass.
Bearcreek is the pro who surveyed the entire trail; he knows of what he speaks.
