The easiest would be to take a taxi from Truckee to the trailhead at I-80. Don’t know how much it would cost but it’s about 10 miles. Shouldn’t be too bad and you could get dropped off right at the trail. I had to take a taxi from Tahoe City to Northstar a few years ago and it was about $50, but it was also a longer ride, if that helps at all. If you do this have the driver drop you off on the south side of the interstate. Much easier that way.
Option #2 is to take the TART bus to Squaw Valley and hike 4 miles up to the PCT from there.
Option #3 would be to take the TART bus from Truckee to Tahoe City and hike the Tahoe Rim Trail to where it connects to the PCT in the Granite Chief Wilderness. It’s about 12 miles.
Have a great hike!
