I may be meeting up with a thru-hiker friend to hike the stretch from Tuolomne to Tahoe in a week or so. What can I expect through this section of trail? How many miles is it?
PS. Apparently the Sierras are still barely passable. There was seven feet on top of Muir pass.

What is the mileage between Tuolomne Meadows and Sonora Pass? Sonora Pass and Lake Tahoe? Would it be easy to hitch from Sonora to Tuolomne or Tahoe to Sonora?

We (Pepperman, Jumpback, Erica, Dominique) just finished the section from Tahoe to Sonora pass (southbound). There was only two small sections of snow…maybe 100 yards in total. The mosquitos were very light. It was very beautiful, probably the best section we have done so far. We leave in a day or so to hit the high sierras. We have heard the snow is fine, but the mosquitos stink near tuolomne meadows. It is approx 150 miles in total.
