Tying boots - Appalachian Trail

I have seen a few web sites, over the years, on ways to tie your shoes to prevent your heal from sliding up and down in your shoe.
Does anyone know of any web sites that has this info?

Well, I’ll see if I can explain this. Montrail puts this little flier in all the shoes they sell to explain different techniques. It’s kinda complicated.

Lace up the bottom of the boot as you normally would. When you get to your ankle, do not cross the laces. Instead, go straight up each side of the boot to the next hook. Now cross the laces. Feed the end of the lace through the space you created, from the outside, by bringing the laces straight up the sides. In other words, in between the lace and the boot. Pull tight. That was the complicated part to explain. Now lace up the top normally. Hope it works. Grimace
