After hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2001 and the Pacific Crest Trail in 2006, Francis Tapon set out last April on his most ambitious adventure yet?to become the first person to complete a roundtrip (yo-yo) hike of the Continental Divide Trail. Join Francis for a multimedia presentation of his nearly 6,000-mile, six-month journey, which took him from southern New Mexico north to Montana?s Glacier National Park, and back. As Francis shares tips on gear, trip planning and life lessons learned on the trail, he?ll discuss what it takes to successfully complete a thru-hike of extended length. Following the program, Francis will sign copies of his book, Hike your own Hike: 7 Life Lessons from Backpacking Across America.
