Hey,
We’re leaving on July 24th too, and based on the number of through hikers who have made it going north (at least a dozen in one clump), I think it’ll be doable.
I think the main thing will be to do the big creeks and the high passes early in the morning.
Have a great trip, maybe we’ll cross paths…

howdy there,

i am on the pct and now am in bridgeport. by the time you all leave for the jmt, you will have no problems what so ever. the snow up there is melting at a very fast rate! the river crossings were high but not all that bad when i was through there and that was just little over a week ago or so. you should be able to handle it with no problem. there are tons of jmt hikers out there that i met already and there have been around 50-75(vague estimate) pct hikers that are already through.

dont worry about the rivers. but still do try to go over the passes around 7-8 in the morning if you can. but most of all just have a blast out there and dont try to rush yourself through, it is some of the most beatiful scenery anywhere!!!

i wish you all a wonderful hike!!
and a great day.

Thanks. The trail conditions report on the pcta.org website kinda freeked me out. Glad to here it’s cool up there.

Clint - See you out there. We’ll be getting a latest start on the 24th because of some permit confusion.

peace
