Updating AT Data Book

How do you get new info into the AT Data Book? I met Mute Snail at the Gathland Park June 9, about a day’s hike north of Harper’s Ferry. He was looking for the nearest campground so he could avoid T-storms that were due soon. According to his AT Data Book, he would have to go some ~ miles to get to the Dalgren Campground. Fortunately, I know about the Maple Tree Campground that’s just 1/4 mile down the road from there. It’s a family campground with tent sites, wooden cottages, a pavillion, and most important, showers and a camp store. I took him to it, but it’s only a 5-minute walk down the road from the trailhead. Mute Smail wondered why it was not listed in the Data Book. Guess you can’t list what you don’t know about. So how do you get info like that into the databook? I’ve posted info about it in the Crampton Gap Shelter journal, but I guess that would only help SOBOs, since that shelter is about 1/2 mile north of the trailhead. P.S. - Had the honor of being the first to sign his TJ Guestbook.

Are you talking about the AT Data Book or the ALDHA Companion?

If you are refering to the ALDHA Companion, then the easiest way to get updated information would be to go to www.ALDHA.org and email them the info. Or you could contact the editors, Cindy (Mrs. Gorp).
