I was wondering if anyone had any info regarding the parking lot in NoVa at VA-601 (near Ashby Gap and US-50). is this a safe/good parking area to leave a car over night?

Not a problem. Good place to park, it is an out of the way parking spot. If you are planning on doing an overnight on the weekend, suggest that you begin your hike early Friday afternoon in order to get a parking spot. If the weather is forecasted to be good, the parking lot fills up quickly on the weekend. Get there early. Enjoy your hike.
