Vacuum sealing tuna

Is it a good idea to remove the cans and just vacuum seal the tuna/chicken? Will this work or will it grow bacteria, etc. I just want to eliminate the weight of the can. I know it isn’t that much wieght but if you bring a few cans at a time, it gets pretty heavy.

Thanks!

Like you, I thought that too! But is does spoil. In fact, as it spoils, gases are released and the bag expands like a balloon. It was really quite facinating. Also, FYI fresh veggies don’t work too good either, although some can look really cool in the bag!

My suggestion: Make your meal at home–including the tuna with the meal no can–dehydrate the entire meal and vacuum seal meal in (1/2 lb.) or (1 lb.) portions. Ready to eat? Just add water! Even if its cold water, you can still eat it.

And they have some tuna already flavored, pepper and the such, but best of all they have fully cooked bacon and sausage. Ummmm bacon… the tuna comes in several different sizes of servings and there is also chicken. If tired of these try the foil packed salmon. And if your near a good deli the hanging meats keep forever, slice off a few pieces and add to anything.
