Maine State Govenor Angus King is allowing residents (and the public) to vote on the design of Maine’s state quarter (you know, the collectible ones!).

Three of the four choices are lighthouses.

The fourth choice is our holy grail - Mount Katahdin. Originally it was not a selection, but someone somewhere pulled some strings - so

…I think of hiking, moose, loons & LL Bean - never lighthouses, but I don’t have a boat or a house on the ocean.

you need to take a trip up the coast, stopping in a lot of the villages along the way. spend a lot of time on Mount Desert Island.some awesome trails with awesome views of the ocean.
