1 out 3 hikers are missing the right turn (going south) a few hundred yards past Los Creek in section 18. I put up a sign but folks don’t see that either. If you miss the right turn you are headed for oblivion. It happened twice today. Last week a cowboy found a couple in the middle of nowhere just by chance. Hopefully I can get a better sign up. Going SOBO, do you mean after you cross Los Creek and climb the hill South a few hundred yards where there’s a right-angle, right turn? In my Databook (5th Edition, page 46) this location says Segment 18 mile 9.2 Sharp right (West) into the woods. There used to be a flimsy Carsonite signpost with stick-on letters there…I have a photo of it somewhere. That flimsy sign is probably gone now, huh?

Yes, that is the place. A lot of cows graze in the area and probably trampled the sign. I’ll try to kludge up something better.
