Washington in September

I am able to do a section hike in September, and would like to hike the Washington PCT section. What kind of weather should I pack for? Is snow almost a certainty? Should I expect freezing temps?

Plan for rain and when it rains it’s solid for a week! On the other hand September can be dry, and the best weather of the year. The longer you wait the better the chance for rain in all of the NW. Yes, it can show in September and the further N. as in Mt Baker area you are @ 5,000 to 7,000 ft. Watch your weather very close, before you start. If I was you I’d section hike Oregon in Sept. S. of Government Camp (Hwy 26) the elevation is generally under 4,000 ft all the way to Ca.
