can someone help me remember?..seems like there’s a little “streamlet” down in the woods there at the foot of max patch …paw-ee and i are tryin’ to plan another hike and hoped we might actually get to spend the night on max patch this time…but can you get water there?..the data book says water north and south a couple of miles, but i wasn’t wild about the idea of carrying it that far…

I am fairly certain that just north (as you come down from the top) of Max Patch as you enter the woods near a large tree is a camp site with a small spring/stream. Now whether it has dried up because of our recent drought, I do not know. The last time I was there was in April of this year. South of Max Patch, just past the entrance off of the FS road, is a small stream; but it would be further from the top I believe. Great hiking, PaPa Larry
