We were just up @ the barn/Overmountain shelter this past Sunday, 10/14/07, and there was plenty of water there. Also, we hiked from Beauty Spot North, the Saturday before last, 10/6/07, and the next spring (about a mile and 1/4 or so) was fine there.

Don’t cancel. The spring at Deep Gap, just past Beauty Spot, should be okay. A Trail Angel is leaving jugs of water just south of Iron Mtn Gap, refilling once or twice a week. The spring at Clyde Smith is pretty regular, too. That area had a good shower last week - about 1 inch. We are due some rain in the next few days also.
