Water on southern LT

I was just wondering if anyone knows about the water situation on the first 100 miles or so of the LT in southern Vermont. How are the springs by the shelters and such. Hope it doesnt reflect the situtation here in NJ/NY area which is dry, very dry. Any info would be greatly appreciated as I am doing a section hike around mid-september. Thanks.

Just went through it maybe a week ago. Don’t remember any real problems with water, and it’s absolutely nothing like NY was–uh, that was awful.

The water was pretty reliable. We’ve had some rain up here lately, too. You shouldn’t have any problems.

The one dry stretch to be aware of is between Hell Hollow Brook and the Goddard Shelter – 5 or 6 miles. There wasn’t a trickle, even when I went through in May. Hell Hollow Brook is pretty tannic, too, IMO – I’d fill up near the Nauheim Shelter.
